In 2014 God is bringing exciting events to MADI. In August of 2014, MADI and Riverwood Covenant Church in Greenfield Minnesota are partnering to undertake the first ever short-term mission trip to Uganda. The informational meeting took place at Riverwood Covenant on December 1st 2013.
The mission trip is aimed at building relationships with the Ugandan community of Christian believers through evangelism, children ministry, youth camp, medical outreach, and capacity building. The team will spend time in prayers, worship and fellowship with local churches and christian groups.
In the next eight months, the team will immerse themselves in spiritual, physical, psychological, and cultural training to be ready for the mission in August.
Matthew 9:35-38. Then Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every kind of diseases and sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were bewildered and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.”
The family of Riverwood Covenant church are answering this call to work in the field of God in Uganda which is ripe and ready for harvest. It is our duty as believers to advance the gospel of Jesus Christ through love ad compassion. The short-term mission team of the 2014 MAD Experience in in Uganda is being equipped by God to do just that.
Uganda is a developing nation where many still live in abject poverty. Consequently, it is difficult for many to see past their misery and suffering and acknowledge the gospel of Christ. At MADI, it is part of our mission to support and promote the gospel where and when ever possible as we work in Africa. Just like Jesus, we show compassion for the plight of the people by acknowledging and addressing their needs, which become good testimony to the gospel of Jesus Christ because they see that we preach what we do.
Many churches in our communities in the United States are struggling with evangelism and outreach because there are limited opportunities to practice their faith. We live in a society that is so complacent and passive about the things of God. We have so much opportunities right here in our own neighborhood but i also think that the need is more in other parts of the world like Africa. If you are experiencing the burden in your heart put there by God to serve his people in Africa, we invite you to join us for a mission trip. If your church is looking for opportunity to be a blessing and be blessed by serving and building relationships with the christian community in Africa, we can help facilitate that for you and with you. It is worth noting here that none of this is about MADI or those who are called to serve. This is about the will of God being fulfilled through us his servants. Make a Difference in someone’s life today and let God be glorified.
