What We Do

Transforming lives and communities

DSCI0369.9865 (93K)Because poverty has both local and global causes, MADI works within communities and across geographical areas to help individuals and groups improve the well-being of families and overcome poverty.

Transformational development is the process through which children, families and communities identify and overcome the obstacles that prevent them from living life in all its fullness.

MADI partners with communities to improve lives.

Through these partnerships, communities access the knowledge and resources needed to improve the well-being of their lives and overcome poverty.

MADI provides a range of interventions tailored to the context, including programs in education, health, economic development, microfinance, agriculture, water and sanitation.

By helping community members help each other, MADI ensures that the process of positive change continues long after the intervention has ended.

Seeking collaboration to effect change

DSCI0379.4330 (81K)MADI engages institutions, donors, communities of faith, and the general public to address the problems that perpetuate poverty in Africa. Our advocacy staff works to empower communities to restore their livelihoods one person at a time.

Every day, all over Africa, unjust and unfair policies, systems, practices and attitudes force hundreds to live in poverty. Young girls and boys live on the streets where they beg to eat because their families do not have enough to take care of them; children as young five years old beg for money and food in the street in the middle of busy traffic all of them bare foot and half naked.

The only solution to such wrongs is for people to demand an end to such injustice and inequality. World MADI works to empower communities in Africa to know and to speak up for their rights at local, national and international levels.
