Our spiritual and Moral Growth program is inspired by two Biblical scriptures:
Isiah: 58:6-9
Is this not the fast that I have chosen:
To loose the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the heavy burdens,
To let the oppressed go free,
And that you break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out;
When you see the naked, that you cover him,
And not hide yourself from your own flesh?
8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
And your righteousness shall go before you;
The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;
You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’
As much as we love to see the lost in Christ be saved and lead a God filled life, it is very important for us to match what the Bible says with actions. That means carrying ourselves in the manner and image of what we preach and represent in truth and humility.
Mark 6:34
When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things. It is our philosophy to address the immediate needs of the poor and sick as we long to present to them the good news of Jesus. In reality, the “Good News”
Our work to the poor is modeled after Jesus Christ. To truly help someone in need, we believe we need the kind of love that Jesus had for the poor when he came to save mankind. MADI is compassionate about the plight of the poor and oppressed.
Our moral and spiritual growth program is modeled throughout all our programs. But we also have specific activities designed to lay more emphasis on this aspect of our work with with the poor. These activities include but are not limited to:
- Church building and planting
- Youth camps
- Evangelism and outreach
Church Building and Planting
We work with Christians in various villages to help them start a church or empower an already existing but struggling church. We come in partnership with the identified church or group of Christians to pray for God’s wisdom and leadership. We mobilize material support to assist in building construction and biblical literature to spur spiritual growth and discipleship. We also help to connect the local church with a church in the US where they could find encouragement and support to continue expanding God’s kingdom.
Youth Camps
Once a year, MADI conducts a youth camp with the purpose of leading them to find Jesus. We partner with local churches, schools, and community groups with existing christian youth groups to organize and invite youths in the communities who do not know Christ or need to growth in Him.
Children and young adults from age five to 20 years attend a week long bible camp where they are introduce to the saving knowledge of Christ. They are then carefully guided to the point where they acknowledge and confess their sins, and accept Jesus are their personal Lord and Savior. Kids 5 to 12 years attend a program called VBS. It is packed with practical activities to teach children about God and Jesus and why we as human beings need to be saved form the original sin. The youths ages 13 to 20 are exposed to bible teachings through discussions, skits, and soul searching meditative excises as the Holy Spirit convicts their hearts to seek Jesus. At the end of the camp, these youths are given the chance to receive Christ into their lives.
Evangelism
We help local churches in their outreach efforts by providing Bible literature and training on how to be effective in reaching others with the gospel of Christ. MADI also organizes and facilitates seminars on alcoholism, how to end domestic abuse, marriage and relationships.
